• Welcome! We recommend our Intro to Pole Series or weekly drop-in Beginner Pole classes, both of which are designed for true beginners. These classes are appropriate for ALL fitness levels (even if you’ve had prior dance/movement experience.) After that, our Level 1 Series is designed to compliment and add to what you learned in Beginner Pole, building your inventory of spins while increasing strength and stamina.

  • Our Intro to Lyra Series and Beginner Lyra drop-in classes are designed for complete beginners. We spend a lot of time building strength and going over movements and poses low to the ground for your safety and comfort. After mastering the intro curriculum, our Lyra L1 Series expands on your repertoire of tricks and builds more strengt and body awareness.

  • We require preregistration and payment for all classes before you arrive. We have a few easy ways to do that. Check out our Schedule page or download our app!

  • For your first class, wear athletic clothing that you are comfortable moving around in. For pole, we recommend leggings or shorts instead of pants.

For aerial and lyra, tight fitting athletic wear that cover your torso and legs is best for these classes. Areas that are not covered can experience chafing/friction burns, so leggings with cutouts are not recommended. Please wear form fitting and stretchy clothes that cover arms, legs, belly, and armpits.

For all classes, please do not wear tights with feet, jewelry, or clothing with zippers, buttons, or metal that could catch on fabric or scratch our poles.

Please refrain from using lotion on your hands or body before class, as it will prevent you from being able to grip the apparatuses.

Kneepads are also recommended for Floorwork, Choreo, and Booty classes. Heels classes are best experienced with professional dancer heels (Pleasers, etc).

  • Most our classes are 75 minutes long.

  • Hell NO! We are here for every BODY. And yours is perfect just the way it is.

  • Definitely not! At Ascendance, we believe that pole and aerial is for everybody and every body. We strive to make our classes accessible and are happy to offer modifications and progressions to any tricks as needed.  We also offer Intro to Pole and Intro to Lyra for Plus Size Dancers. These series are led by a plus size instructor and specifically designed for plus size bodies. Come exactly as you are.

  • No dance experience is necessary to start. Our beginner classes start with simple moves and progressions with lots of instruction and repetition to help everyone master each trick.

  • Yes, all of our classes at Ascendance are co-ed. We welcome everyone into our space who has a genuine desire to move and dance!

  • We allow minors 16+ with parent or guardian permission. Guardians must come in-person to sign an additional waiver form. For anyone 16 and under, we’re happy to set up private lessons for you. We will occasionally run youth focused classes or workshops - sign up for our newsletter to stay up to date with those announcements.

  • Definitely not! Heels are not for everyone and you will never be required to wear them for our classes. That being said, you are welcome to bring your pole heels for most any class if you desire. We recommend professional dancer heels such as Pleasers or Ellies, no street shoes. You will find that our heels classes are best experienced by wearing professional dancer heels.

Don’t own heels yet? Not sure what style or size to buy? No worries, we also have an extensive library of heels you can try on and borrow for class.
