Why Is Ascendance Pole and Aerial Arts a Nonprofit?

When people first hear that Ascendance Pole and Aerial Arts is a nonprofit organization, they often ask: "Why would a pole and aerial studio be a nonprofit?"

Most fitness studios operate as traditional businesses, but from the very beginning Ascendance was created with a different purpose. Our mission has never been to just sell classes. Our mission is to make movement, confidence, and community accessible to as many people as possible.

 We Believe Movement Changes Lives

We are more than just a workout. We build strength, resilience, confidence, creativity, and self-expression. We help people reconnect with their bodies, accomplish goals they never thought possible, and find a community where they're celebrated exactly as they are.

We've seen students walk through our doors feeling nervous or intimidated, only to discover a passion that transforms how they see themselves. We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to experience that transformation.

Accessibility Is Part of Our Mission

As a nonprofit, we can prioritize people over profits. That means we're able to invest in programs that make our studio more accessible to our community. Whether it's by offering scholarship opportunities, creating affordable community classes, hosting outreach events, or developing educational programs, our focus is on reducing barriers so more people can experience pole and aerial arts.

 Unlike traditional for-profit businesses, nonprofit organizations reinvest their resources back into fulfilling their mission. For Ascendance, that means investing in our students, instructors, equipment, facility improvements, educational opportunities, and community programming. Every improvement we make is intended to create a better experience for current and future students. Our goal is to build a studio that will continue serving the community for years to come.
