Ascendance's Giving Tree with REACH
December 5, 2018
At Ascendance, we are all about building community, both within our classes and events at our studio as well as working with organizations and groups outside our studio to reach a larger audience. For our first holiday season, we wanted to work with a group within the Renton community as part of our community outreach that not only helps those in need but are also aligned with our vision of being inclusive. This year, we are excited to announce that we will be partnering with REACH (Renton Ecumenical Association of Churches) this December to help families in need during the holidays.
We chose to partner with REACH this year because they are a local, inclusive group who serves people in our community. We want our studio to be a part of what makes Renton a great place to live and for our students to see what an incredible difference they can make when they come together. Pole and Aerial Arts have given so much to so many of us: a place where we belong, a place where we feel safe, a place we can relax, have fun, and make friends. REACH does the same for so many people in the area, providing a warm, safe space where they can find healing, support, and friendship.
REACH is a community of local churches and partner agencies that work to find ways to help all members of the Renton community to have what they need to be safe and well. They are an organization for anyone who wants to find meaning and wholeness by living in a compassionate sustainable community. REACH hosts a day center and a night shelter for women and families. They also run the Renton Meal coalition, which works to provide hot meals 7 days a week to those in need. You can learn more about REACH by visiting their website, Facebook, and Instagram.
To help us in partnering with REACH, we will be hosting a giving tree in our lobby with gift suggestions for children and families in need in the Renton area. Please take a gift tag and drop off your new, unwrapped gift under our tree.
