Aerial yoga uses a silk hammock as a tool to help you achieve and deepen traditional yoga positions. The weight of the body is either partially or fully supported by the hammock. You’ll move through a variety of yoga postures including inversions, hip openers, hamstring stretches, and restorative postures. The class will focus on mobility, strength-building, and decompression of the spine. Expect to have fun and get a good stretch from head to toe!

In our Intermediate Aerial Yoga class, we continue to use the silk hammock to move through a variety of yoga postures, that includes inversions, hip openers, hamstring stretches, and core strengtheners.
Using foundations from the previous level, this class also teaches flow sequences that infuses a bit of dance, as you transition from one pose to another. We recommend having had 2-4 months of Aerial Yoga before trying this class.

This intermediate level class is focused on building overall conditioning with a particular focus on core strength in order to help you safely and correctly invert from both the ground or aerially on any apparatus. Using the aerial hammocks, a safe and supported approach to inverting is available for beginners while also challenging more advanced students to take the drills off the ground to build better grip, back and shoulder strength, shoulder mobility, and overall control and stamina. Students will work on body awareness, balance, flexibility, and control while inverted, with equal attention paid to controlled descents and soft landings.

Discover the joy of aerial hammock, also known as aerial sling, a wonderfully versatile and supportive apparatus! This class is designed for anyone new to aerial dance, offering a gentle yet effective introduction to the world of aerial arts.
In this class, you'll explore the unique benefits of the aerial hammock. Unlike vertical apparatuses like silks or rope, the closed loop of fabric provides immediate support, making it an ideal starting point for building confidence and strength in the air.
We'll begin each session with a comprehensive warm-up and a series of strength and flexibility exercises specifically designed to prepare your body for aerial movement. You'll learn how to gracefully enter and exit the hammock, mastering foundational moves, shapes, and tricks. Our focus will be on building the core skills and pathways that are essential for your progression to more advanced aerial hammock levels.
No prior aerial hammock experience is required. Worried about the aerial part of aerial hammock? We also offer aerial yoga classes that utilize a lower hammock to access grounded poses and build strength and flexibility. Try it out and when you're ready to fly we'll be here!
